As mentioned below, WildBlue has changed something fundamental in their system. There's nothing I can do at the moment because I don't have a stable computer to work with right now.

After installing and I press the set acct button, it reads XML read failed. How to fix???

Oh, no. I'm off by over $30, it's just that ads or selling my RAM will cover that easily.

That's not how it works... $10 in ads is not $10 in donations. Donations are through PayPal, and I get them instantly, ads are accumulated by Google to $100 before payment. They're as different as apples and sirloin.
The simplest solution will be for someone to buy my RAM, which shouldn't take more than a week or two.

If it's just $10 dollars then I'll donate that much if that's what you need. It's ritual for me to monitor my usage.

I'm not sure yet. I haven't attempted to handle a secure HTTP connection through code yet, but it may still be possible. I'm going to have to do some digging around once I get a system to do so with.

*WildBlue changes

Would you be able to get the software working once your computer is up and running or has WilBlue change make it impossible?

Try removing the program through the uninstaller and downloading the latest version.

Wildblue bandwisth monitor has stopped working; cannot run or update.

Thanks for this great program. I recently had a problem with error getting the xml file, but a uninstall and reinstall fixed this issue.

The exact issue is that they've moved the XML file to HTTPS through the standard HTTPS port rather than the usual port 8180. The jsp file that controls the flash-based Usage gadget which I read in my program still has port 8180 listed. I will attempt to write some failsafe checks to work around issues like this automatically in the next version.

I looked into it. It's WildBlue's problem, not mine. However, it did reveal a little glitch regarding HTTPS URLs. I will be updating again soon, but it will not solve the problem we're experiencing. Only WildBlue can do that.

I checked my usage on their site and it shows their but still get a XML URL connection failed on the software.

XML URL connection failed here too.

I just went to Wildblue web site and their monitor won't work. So maybe not reality ripple problem

Having the exact same issue as TY, started the error last evening

It gets through the Reading Data URL fine. When it gets to the Reading XML it fails and says XML URL connection failed.

Doesn't update after it fails. Tried re-installing with the same results

Those are not alternatives to this product. This is a WildBlue usage limit monitor, not a hardware bandwidth meter. It does not measure your computer or local network activity in the least, it requests the same file the Flash-based app (which WildBlue provides) uses, and stores it for graphing purposes.

Two free alternatives, Netmeter for Windows and NTM for Linux. google for Netmeter and see soureforge for NTM.

A linux version should be possible as it's written in .NET... I'll see about a MONO compile.

Looks like a neat tool! Any chance of a Linux variant? Running Ubuntu here...

Do the same thing mike did... apparently you have to create the folder and xml files by hand... I'll get it fixed here soon!

I'm not a programmer so how do I fix it?

i corrected a mistake i made on the folder name for my manually created path to the needed history xml file that i created for it cause it was looking for it. so now it seems to be working fine!

well its sorta working. I get the upload and download levels and not sure if history is working right cause i just started to use it, but i am still getting "unhandled Exceptions"

so i got it to work i think so far by manually creating the folder and xml file in the place that it was looking for

having trouble with Windows Vista getting "unhandled Exception has occurred" ...could not find a part of the path "C:Users.....

Thank you! I was in the dark regarding the discontinuation of the Pulse program. This is the perfect way to monitor withoout having to go to the WB site!

Most companies don't like it when they hear their customers are using third-party programs. But most people don't care what companies think anyway. ;)
